Sonablate® HIFU

The Leader in Focal Therapy for Prostate Diseases

You pride yourself on providing the best treatment options to your patients. Why not offer your patients the most customizable HIFU treatment to meet their individual needs?

Sonablate HIFU is the next generation of prostate care

Sonablate is the first high frequency, ultrasound probe to be commercialized. This advanced image-guided device allows physicians to create a customized plan for each patient’s individual prostate needs. Ultrasound energy, or sound waves, is transmitted through the rectal wall and focused on specific targets within the prostate identified by MRI and confirmed by ultrasound.

Our 3 Step Advanced Process

1. AIM
at specific tissue using ultrasound MR-fusion.
2. ABLATE
with pinpoint accuracy while sparing untargeted tissue.
3. ANALYZE
using real-time imaging and advanced TCM Technology.

Advantages of using the Sonablate Device

  • Minimally invasive, bloodless ablation
  • Radiation-free
  • Minimal side effects
  • Healthy tissue sparing
  • Adjustable for each dose of HIFU energy
  • Repeatable procedure, if needed
  • Real-time ultrasound-derived feedback

The Sonablate Device

The Sonablate device is comprised of three main components:

The Probe

Provides precise and focused ablative energy into the prostate. The planning and control functions that accompany the probe allow for custom treatment for every patient.

The Console

This console powers the probe and is made up of several programmable hardware and software modules that are used to adapt treatments to meet the patient’s needs.

The Chiller

Controls water path management system including the bolus and coupling to the rectal wall while circulating degassed, cooled water as an added safety feature to prevent rectal injury

Sonablate’s Built-In Safety Features

Sonablate's Built In Safety- Check Mark

Tissue Change Monitoring (TCM)

Used to guide the energy delivery, TCM assesses energy delivery adequacy of each elemental HIFU lesion.

Reflexivity Index Monitor (RIM)

Used to guide energy delivery, RIM monitors echogenic changes that may indicate increased near field heating.

Intra-treatment Ultrasound-guided Imaging

The ability to view tissue changes as the treatment is progressing within each zone of ablation. Allows the physician to watch for prostate swelling, movement, tissue reaction, etc.

Sonablate Fusion

A multi-vendor, integrated MRI / Ultrasound fusion system with enhanced features to allow for more accurate fusion.
